Cartes du Ciel

By far one of the best starmap/observing programs I have ever used. As a matter of fact, it is the FIRST one I use when searching for objects in the night sky. Although I do also use Hallo (HNSKY); I always find myself going back to Cartes du Ciel.

The database is massive, and the catalogues are quite complete; although they can be a bit confusing, as is the menu for comets & asteroids. But a little invested time will reveal a great deal about this program, and one that should be on every serious star-gazers computer...from the beginner to the advanced; Cartes du Ciel will serve you well.

The addition of being able to control your telescope with this program is an added bonus.
