Satellitarium is a graphical application that predicts the position of artificial satellites and displays them against the sky background.
Satellitarium computes high precision positions by using the standard SGP4/SDP4 satellite motion models. Orbital elements for satellites are loaded directly from standard TLE (two-line elements) files.
Beside position display, Satellitarium is capable of doing different searches on satellite conditions. It can, for example, search for visible passes over observer location or for eclipsing periods of satellites.
Features foreseen for future releases include printing and enhanced display. And, given that my brother owns a Meade ETX telescope, I could also try to add some real-time telescope tracking features.
Available as a Debian Package, RPM and source.
