A telescope design software of the most popular telescope systems used by the amateur astronomers and telescope makers.
Full version, without limitations, up to 25 optical surfaces.
This is the DOS version; there is also a (newer) Windows version available (check Windows > ATM ). | | | Version: | 2.48 | | Filesize: | 1.05 MB | | Added on: | 07-Sep-2003 | | Downloads: | 195 | | Category: | DOS | | Homepage | Rate resource | Details
Nuit | | Description: | Conceived under a philosophy of simplicity allied to efficiency. For when you face the question "how's the sky tonight? Let me take a look..." and choose to do a stress relieving casual observation.
This program will not let you down, neither will he run you mad trying to figure out how to plot a chart amidst piles of menus and options... as many may.
It was idealized to naked eye observation and it draws stars until mag 5, the brightest planets and the most popular Messier objects - a frugality inversely proportional to its speed.
Buttons are provided to give you quick access to the local horizon on all cardinal points, and ephemeris of the Sun, Moon and planets are also offered. Additionally you may choose to input new objects, such as comets. A summary table of daily events and a tool to find planetary conjunctions complete the set.
This is the DOS version. A newer Windows version is equally available. | | | Version: | 4.01 | | Filesize: | 166.02 Kb | | Added on: | 01-Aug-2003 | | Downloads: | 208 | | Category: | DOS | | Homepage | Rate resource | Details
OCCULT | | Description: | «OCCULT is a shareware program which provides occultation observers with a comprehensive package to support their program of observing. OCCULT 4.2 is available for DOS while Win-OCCULT has been written for Windows 95.
Features: Lunar Ocultation Predictions; Record and Reduce Occultation Observations; Predict Asteroidal and Planetary Occultations of Stars; Solar and Lunar Eclipse Predictions, and Transits; Compute Planetary Ephemerides, and perform general astronomical Conversions and Functions.
OCCULT includes the full PPM as well as other catalogues, and gives you the opportunity to construct your own specialist star catalogues (e.g.from the Hubble GSC)
The full installation of OCCULT 4.2 and Win-OCCULT is available. However if you choose to download we request that you contact Graham Blow (Graham.Blow@actrix.gen.nz) so we can keep track of usage and advise you of bugfixes, etc.» | | | Version: | 4.2 | | Filesize: | 10.49 MB | | Added on: | 07-Aug-2003 | | Downloads: | 213 | | Category: | DOS | | Homepage | Rate resource | Details
Our Cosmohood | | Description: | Classical cosmology program - the first version dates back to 1992, the latest release is from 1999.
It offers a 3D model of the closest 2368 galaxies and an animation of a guided visit where, step by step, an explanation is provided on the organization and structure of the nearby universe

Satf | | Description: | Satellite tracking set of utilities allowing you:
. to analyze one or more satellites over a given period;
. to classify by chronological order the passes obtained for this period;
. to visualize the movements of a satellite around an Earth globe;
. to visualize the movements of a satellite in the sky from any location;
. to see a pre-prepared demonstration of the program capabilities;
. to try to identify a satellite seen by chance;
. to read a TLE file of orbital elements and selectively create another only with the satellites you picked;
. to update the files considering the standard magnitudes;
. to store the data for new locations;
. to classify a TLE by order decreasing order of NORAD numbers;
. to analyze the passes of satellites even if they are not visible (useful for radio amateurs).
The programs are programmed in DOS. They will run in Windows too.

Predict | | Description: | PREDICT provides real-time satellite tracking and orbital prediction information to users and client applications in a variety of ways: Through the system console; Through the command line;
Through a network socket;
Through the generation of audio speech.
Data such as a spacecraft's sub-satellite point, azimuth and elevation headings, Doppler shift, path loss, slant range, orbital altitude, orbital velocity, footprint diameter, orbital phase (mean anomaly), squint angle, eclipse depth, the time and date of the next AOS (or LOS of the current pass), orbit number, and sunlight and visibility information are provided on a real-time basis. PREDICT can also track (or predict the position of) the Sun and Moon. PREDICT also has the ability to control AZ/EL antenna rotators to maintain accurate orientation in the direction of communication satellites. As an aid in locating and tracking satellites through optical means, PREDICT can articulate tracking coordinates and visibility information as plain speech.
This is the DOS version. Linux and Sharp Zaurus PDA version are also available.

Univers produces image models of the different Universe models/theories (expanding, De Sitter, etc...).
MSA - Millenium Star Atlas gives you the page and volume of this Atlas according to R.A. and Dec.
Photom is useful for variable stars observation.

Visual Ephemeris for Uranian Moons | | Description: | This program will generate an ephemeris with the same accuracy which can be obtained from BDL's Ephemerides Server for the five major moons of Uranus. It is based on GUST86 and VSOP87C.Ura theories form the BDL FTP site which they currently use. The major difference with this software is that there are both text and graphics allowing the user to view the moons from 4700BC to at least 6000AD. The program will generate a one time view or one may select a realtime ephemeris for any date, updating every ten seconds for up to twenty-four hours. Typical accuracy is better than .01 arcsecond (typically .001) due to compiler differences. | | | Version: | 1 | | Filesize: | 274.00 Kb | | Added on: | 16-Aug-2003 | | Downloads: | 267 | | Category: | DOS | | Homepage | Rate resource | Details
