DeepskyLog 2.0, a new version of the open source internet deepskylog observation log available!
Since a few days, a new DeepskyLog version is available. DeepskyLog is an internet-application where descriptions and drawings of deepsky observations can be entered. At this moment, a DeepskyLog server is heavely used in Belgium (almost 3000 observations!).
The new version (2.0) features numerous enhancements and bugfixes. The most important enhancements are :
- The possibility to search for observations
- The possibility to download pdf files of objects and observations
- The 'club' concept : It is now possible to set up a central database and a central deepskylog site, where the site of different 'clubs' can link to. This makes it possible to see only the observations of your club members, even if the observations are stored in a central database.
- Link to DeepSkyLive (http://users.telenet.be/deepskylive/) finder charts for each object.
This is a non-exhaustive list of enhancements. Beside these enhancements, a lot a bugfixes made it into the 2.0 release.
